Eliada’s Core Values: Faith, Hope & Love Eliada was founded on the principles of Christian faith, honoring the intrinsic value and dignity of each person. We offer an environment of unconditional love and respect to encourage the development of spiritual growth and personal confidence as a foundation for achieving ones potential. Integrity Eliada is guided by inherent honesty, ethics and accountability. Teamwork Eliada is a dedicated and diverse team of professionals who support one another in achieving the agency’s mission. Excellence Eliada is committed to excellence in a solution-focused environment.
Abused, dependent and neglected children, families struggling to meet children’s needs – all need something priceless: a bright, productive, secure future. Dr. Lucius B. Compton founded the first Eliada house in 1903 to help provide that future.
Today, Eliada’s full service continuum includes Residential and Day Treatment; Foster Care and Therapeutic Foster Care; In-Home family services; Child Development Services (Preschool, After School, More at Four, Summer Camp); and Therapeutic Recreation, featuring TASC (Therapeutic Animal Stewardship Cooperative) and NYPUM (National Youth Progam Using Mini-bikes).
We envision a world where children’s needs are met in a caring environment. To make this vision a reality, Eliada provides community-responsive, need-oriented care and support for children and families in crisis without regard to race, religion, or national origin. Programs are designed to address the physical, social, emotional, educational and spiritual needs of those in care. Services are offered within the context of the family whenever possible and by residential treatment when necessary. Each year, we care for over nine hundred families and children.
