 Foster Care Director

Eliada Homes is seeking a dynamic, experienced administrator to direct our therapeutic and family foster care services.  We are commited to providing the highest quality services possible to help our children succeed!

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  

Develop an implement progressive and effective foster care services in collaboration with the clinical supervisor, oversee all foster care operations including recruitment and licensure of new homes, supervision of consultants' direct work with foster parents, ongoing training for foster parents, community liaison, on call support, and administrative tasks.

 

Qualifications: 

Master's degree in Human Services and Qualified Professional status.  Prefer five years experience in foster care/mental health settings, and two years of supervisory experience.  We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible.  It is full-time with a competitive benefits package.

 

 

 PRN Night Residential Counselors

Position Description:  The PRN Night Residential Counselor works in our therapeutic group home setting offering direct care to students ages 6-17 years.  The NRC is responsible for safety during evening hours, documentation, bed checks, etc.  Positions start as PRN with potential to transition to full-time in the upcoming months.

The Residential Counselor (RC) works with our students during 2nd shift hours (2pm-11pm).  While some staff are brought in PRN, we are looking to bring in exceptional individuals full-time.  Must be physically and emotionally able to meet the demands of the population, as staff may be subject to verbal or physical abuse from students.  While this is a challenging position, it is an opportunity to be a solid role model for students who need structure and guidance in their lives.  The goal of Eliada's staff is to work with students, helping them to develop the skills they need to be successful, contributing members of their communities. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:   

  1. Thoroughly and effectively implement the Eliada Model in order to teach important life skills that may contribute to students’ successful return to the community.  Actively participate in the creation and daily implementation of individualized treatment and teaching plans.  Meet regularly with the leadership staff and implement suggested feedback to ensure proper implementation of the treatment and teaching plans.
  2. Ensure the safety of our students by providing constant monitoring and supervision and thoroughly and effectively utilizing the agency’s crisis intervention. Ability to perform physical restraint techniques as part of the agency’s crisis intervention model.
  3. Accurately complete required mental health, medical and program documentation and required reporting / communication in manner consistent with required mental health and other licensure time requirements.
  4. Actively participate in the daily maintenance and management of the residential program by ensuring a healthy, safe and therapeutic environment and completing responsibilities including, but not limited to, meal preparation, daily cleaning and transportation to routine, emergency medical appointments and medication administration.
  5. Plan and implement structured and therapeutic activities and promote active student participation.

Qualifications:  A strong desire to work with student, patience, and the ability to work well in a team is a must!  Prefer some experience with mental health/at-risk population.  Minimum of high school diploma is required.   

 After School Group Leader

The Group Leader works in our Child Development Department and assumes the primary role in designing and implementing activity plans, record keeping, care and supervision of children in the classroom, communicating with parents and administrative staff, and delegating the appropriate duties and responsibilities to the assistant group leader. The Group Leader works in a leadership role, supervising the assistant group leader, to ensure that all daily functions of the classroom are carried out to reflect agency’s mission and philosophy, current licensing standards, and high standards for overall quality of care and services provided.

Qualifications:  Prefer high school diploma or GED and 2 semester hours in child and youth development, school age programming, or child care administration from an accredited college or university. Experience: Must be at least 18 years of age with at least one year’s experience in a licensed school age program or camp setting.  We have full and part-time work available. 

 

QP Treatment Specialist PRN

Under the direction of the Principal/Assistant Principal, the QP Treatment Specialist is part of the Eliada Academy providing individualized treatment to our student population while maintaining a supportive and therapeutic environment.  Major responsibilities include:  Implementation of the Eliada Model and individualized treatment and teaching plans; providing constant monitoring and supervision to students and effectively utilizing Therapeutic Crisis Intervention; assist teaching staff with class planning, lesson implementation, modifications and testing; completion of mental health, medical and program documentation; participation in daily maintenance and physical presentation of the school. 

Qualifications:  Must meet QP standards for North Carolina (have a bachelor's degree in human service field with two years of post-graduate experience with the target population).  May also have a non-human services degree if you have a minimum of four years of post graduate experience with a comparable population.  Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License and be insurable by Eliada’s carriers.                                 

LPNs at Eliada Home

Description:  We are seeking LPNs who share in our mission of helping children succeed.  Guided by a strong belief in teamwork and excellence, our nursing staff works closely with our residential staff to ensure the best possible care for each student in our Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities (PRTFs).  LPNs will provide restrictive intervention monitoring and effectively utilize the agency's crisis intervention procedures.  Other responsibilities include:  administering medication and implementing each students' health plan. 

Qualifications:  This position requires a valid NC LPN licensure.  Experience working with children and/or adolescents strongly preferred.  Must demonstrate the ability to work in a high stress environment, as the position may experience verbal and/or physical aggression from the client population.
