Earth Fare Hosts Pumpkin Adoption Day to Benefit Eliada

Brownie Troop 64 decorate pumpkins, sales of which benefit Eliada.

Asheville, NC October 17, 2007- Eliada Homes is Earth Fare’s Friend of the Month for October.  As a fundraiser for Eliada, Earth Fare in South Asheville hosted an “Adopt-A-Pumpkin” event on Saturday, October 13, 2007, at their store on Hendersonville Road. With the support of the community, over $250 was raised for the children and families of Eliada.

Pumpkin Adoption

Brownie Troop 64 volunteered their time and creativity to the event, personalizing each pumpkin with a face, hair style, accessories and a name.  Once the Brownies had completed their pumpkin transformations, the pumpkins went up for adoption.  The pumpkins sold for a donation that ranged from $5-$25.

“The pumpkin adoption was as a huge success, not to mention, a great deal of fun.  Janice Husk of Earth Fare and Brownie Troop 64 made the event possible and Eliada is thankful for their all their efforts,” said Eliada’s Special Events Coordinator, Kristen Brown.

The event was also an opportunity to promote Eliada’s upcoming Monster Dash 5K and Fall Festival, which will take place on October 27th at 9:00 a.m.  For more information about the event, please visit www.eliada.org/race.
