Eliada Charity Classic Raises $36,000 to Benefit Children in Need

The event was held April 28, 2008 at Asheville Country Club.

ASHEVILLE – May 2008- On Monday, April 28th over 90 golfers gathered at Asheville Country Club to participate in the Inaugural Eliada Charity Classic, presented by thelittlestgolfer.com. The sun came out just in time for the 1:00 pm shotgun start, and a great day on the links was had by all. In total, the event raised over $36,000 to benefit the children and families served by Eliada.

The tournament was divided into two flights. The first flight was won by Eric Morris, Matthew Morris, Aaron Meinch, and Jesse Meinch. The second flight’s first-place finishers were Dr. Brazil, Dr. James Weilbaecher, and Barry Kemp. Closest to the pin winners were Jesse Meinch and Kristi Carriker, while the longest drive prizes went to David Raulerson and Ann Weidie.

The presenting sponsor of the tournament was thelittlestgolfer.com. “The community really came out to support us for this event,” according to tournament committee chairman Gary Roberts. “We’ve gotten nothing but positive feedback from the golfers and sponsors, and we’re already looking forward to next year.”
