Lobster Trap and Sunburst Trout Farm Raise Nearly $1,000 for Eliada

ASHEVILLE – June 2007 – Lobster Trap chef Tres Hundertmark recently presented a check in the amount of $930 to Eliada Homes for Children. Monies were raised through the first annual Eliada Trout Rodeo, sponsored by Sunburst Trout Farm and The Lobster Trap restaurant.

On Sunday, May 20th, dozens of Eliada children traveled to beautiful Sunburst Trout Farm to enjoy a day of fun and fishing. Hundreds of trout were caught, and prizes were awarded for the largest fish, the smallest fish, and the most fish caught. The event culminated in a fish fry for the children and families of Eliada. The remaining fish were sold at The Lobster Trap May 21st – May 25th, with $10 from each trout plate sold benefiting the century-old child and family services organization.

The event was also supported through in-kind donations made by Asheville Citizen-Times, Mountain Xpress, WOXL 96.5, Sysco, Wal-Mart, Biltmore Wines, Empire Distributors, Skyland Distributors, and Fine Wine Trading Company.

Upon receiving the check, CEO Mark Upright stated, “This was a fantastic event for Eliada’s students. On behalf of all the students, families, and staff of Eliada, I extend my sincere appreciation to Lobster Trap, Sunburst Trout Farm, and all the other generous businesses that made this unique and special event a reality.”
