Strong & Courageous Wrestling Program Begins New Season at Eliada

Wrestling 2ASHEVILLE – November 9, 2009 – This Thursday, November 12th, the “Strong and Courageous” Wrestling Program begins a new season of skill clinics, specialized training, and tournaments. The group will meet every Thursday from 6:00 – 7:30 pm in the Eliada Homes gymnasium. Attendance is open to students from kindergarten to eighth grade. A flat fee of $65 covers the entire season, which ends in March. Wrestlers of all skill levels are invited to participate.

The program is taught by Coach Norm Osteen, who began the “Strong and Courageous” program in 1989. Osteen has coached hundreds of high school state champions, 541 All American wrestlers, and 3 Olympians, including the first American female wrestler to win an Olympic medal. Each year, aspiring wrestlers from across the Southeast travel to Western North Carolina to study under Osteen.
