Eliada Academy

Eliada's School and Day Treatment Center

classroom6.jpgEliada Academy is a comprehensive day treatment and educational program for both residential and community based clients. This program is fully accredited to provide intensive day treatment services and is classified by the state of North Carolina as a Non-public (private) school.

classroom3.jpgBoth experiential and cultural educational field trips are incorporated into the program and the school’s calendar is very similar to that of Buncombe County School System.

Our primary mission is to help students reach their fullest potential in a safe therapeutic learning environment. Our vision is to provide an optimal learning environment that empowers children and their families to succeed.

Referrals of students from the greater Asheville area are accepted from area mental health agencies, Department of Social Services, and other public and private sources. Adolescents from ages 10 to 17 are eligible.

Program Components

  • Class time 8:15am - 2:45pm. Click here to read our absent/tardy policy. Lunch is served daily.
  • The day treatment program is staffed by a certified principal with QMHP standards, QMHP assistant principal, school resource coordinator, certified teachers including special education, educational treatment specialists, and QMHP case managers. Other Eliada treatment and therapeutic resource staff are also available to the program.
  • Staff undergo extensive training in Eliada’s comprehensive behavioral, educational, and clinical service delivery model, treatment issues, strengths-based service planning implementation, CPR, First Aid, and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention. Clinical supervision and access to clinical and psychiatric consultation are provided.

  • Students have the opportunity to participate in various team sports, such as volleyball, soccer, baseball, golf, and basketball.
  • Eliada staff work cooperatively with referral sources to develop a transition plan to help assure the student’s smooth transition back into the public school or other educational setting.
  • Eliada offers expedited access to a continuum of services for children and their families.
