Spiritual Life
Spiritual Development at Eliada
Eliada
is committed to creating an environment that allows students to explore
their own spiritual path and development while demonstrating respect
for the students’ and families’ religious beliefs and practices. We
strive to provide opportunities for students to develop their own
personal faith; including but not limited to morning and evening
prayer, weekly bible study groups, and transportation to a local
churches for weekly services.
Eliada ensures that faith-based
activities are available to students on a strictly volunteer basis and
that eligibility for participation is based on the therapeutic best
interest of individual students at the time of each activity.
Eliada
staff and volunteers facilitate group activities while leaving
one-on-one spiritual guidance to the pastor / priest of the student’s
home church / religious organization. Focus is on lessons with
uplifting messages, such as faith, hope and love, rather than
fear-based lessons, such as damnation, that can be difficult for
students in treatment to process.
Eliada is committed to creating a safe environment in which students
may heal and grow from past experiences of abuse and / or neglect. We
realize that spiritual development often plays a key role in this
process.
