Program Description

Intensive In-home services is a home-based mental health service that provides support to individuals and families. It focuses on providing children the tools they need to manage their behavior while maintaining healthy dynamics in the home and community. It is designed to meet the child and family’s unique needs through crisis management, counseling, case management, family therapy, and skill building. Intensive In-Home services works with a 3-person team led by a Licensed Clinician who delivers individual and family therapy. Additionally, our model highlights Trauma Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral therapy- a skills-based models that is able to help children experiencing the emotional side effects of trauma address and solve these effects. Motivational Interviewing and Person Centered therapy are used to identify strengths of the individual and family in order to improve therapeutic relationships overall. 

Service Criteria

  • Individuals ages 3-20 with a mental health diagnosis that is affecting functioning at home, community or school.
  • Those at risk for out of home placement and imminent crisis
  • Previous mental health treatment that has been unsuccessful
  • Counties Served: Buncombe, Henderson, Haywood, McDowell, Yancey, Madison
