Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept Medicaid?

Yes, one of Eliada’s key commitments is increasing access to care. We accept Medicaid (Healthy Blue or Vaya) and Blue Cross Blue Shield, helping remove financial barriers to mental health services. Staff can help verify benefits and explain coverage options during intake.

Do I need to pay at the time of my appointment?

Insurance is billed after your session. Our staff will review any potential out-of-pocket costs with you in advance.

How do I know which type of therapy is right for me or my child?

During the intake appointment, a clinician will assess your needs and recommend the most appropriate approach. Services are designed to support individuals facing challenges such as:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Trauma and adverse childhood experiences
  • Behavioral challenges
  • Family conflict
  • School or social difficulties
  • Foster care transitions or aging out of care

 Therapy may include:

  • Individual sessions
  • Family sessions
  • A combination of both
  • Group therapy

Are your therapists licensed?

Yes. All Eliada therapists are fully licensed and experienced in working with children, adolescents, and families. You can review individual bios for specific credentials and areas of expertise.

Can I choose my therapist?

Yes. We do our best to accommodate preferences such as therapist gender or specialty, based on availability.

How often are counseling sessions scheduled?

Session frequency is based on individual needs. Most clients attend:

  • Once per week (typical)
  • Twice per week (if additional support is needed)
  • Every other week (as progress is made)

Often, yes. Family involvement can be an important part of progress. Depending on your situation, therapy may include:

  • Family counseling sessions

Your therapist will recommend the best approach for your family.

How long does counseling last?

The length of therapy varies based on individual goals and needs. Some clients benefit from short-term support, while others engage in longer-term care. Progress is reviewed regularly, and treatment plans are adjusted as needed.

Are counseling sessions confidential?

Yes. Counseling is confidential, with a few legal exceptions, including:

  • Risk of harm to self or others
  • Suspected abuse or neglect
  • Court-ordered disclosures

Your therapist will review confidentiality and its limits during your first visit.

What should I expect at the first session?
